March 13, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3302 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4484 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1992 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Tuesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. GREAT WOLF RESORTS INC (NASDAQ:WOLF), BBC Capital Trust II (NASDAQ:BBXT), SALEM COMMUNICATIONS -CL A (NASDAQ:SALM), BLUEGREEN CORP (NYSE:BXG), OMEROS CORP (NASDAQ:OMER), LIGHTWAVE LOGIC INC (OTCBB:LWLG). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  WOLF $0.900 21.53% 5,677,521 51.42% 5,362,785 48.57% 314,736 3,497
  BBXT $10.170 51.23% 144,088 45.41% 135,342 42.65% 8,746 9
  SALM $0.830 27.16% 227,469 57.03% 171,373 42.97% 56,096 676
  BXG $0.640 21.23% 70,232 37.58% 41,208 22.05% 29,024 454
  OMER $2.570 33.64% 906,054 51.78% 813,371 46.48% 92,683 361
  LWLG $0.400 23.81% 116,725 39.08% 51,100 17.11% 65,625 1,641
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows WOLF with a dollar gain Tuesday of $0.90000 and a Friction Factor of 3,497 shares. That means that it only took 3,497 more shares of buying than selling to move WOLF higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
