March 13, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3302 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4484 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1992 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Tuesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. MAJESCO ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY (NASDAQ:COOL), POWERWAVE TECHNOLOGIES INC (NASDAQ:PWAV), CHINA NATURAL GAS INC (OTC:CHNG), EasyLink Services International Corp (NASDAQ:ESIC), ECHO THERAPEUTICS INC (OTCBB:ECTE), ALL FUELS & ENERGY CO (OTC:AFSE). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  COOL $-0.410 -13.80% 1,154,101 46.86% 1,308,059 53.12% -153,958 -3,755
  PWAV $-0.210 -10.45% 1,104,085 45.03% 1,347,624 54.97% -243,539 -11,597
  CHNG $-0.170 -10.83% 25,815 27.53% 45,105 48.10% -19,290 -1,135
  ESIC $-0.590 -11.39% 262,995 45.57% 304,911 52.83% -41,916 -710
  ECTE $-0.230 -11.54% 75,468 47.90% 82,082 52.10% -6,614 -288
  AFSE $-0.443 -30.57% 70,459 24.15% 85,286 29.23% -14,827 -334
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows COOL with a dollar loss Tuesday of $-0.41000 and a Friction Factor of -3,755 shares. That means that it only took 3,755 more shares of selling than buying to move COOL lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
