March 12, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3802 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2421 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3374 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Monday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Generex Biotechnology Corp (NASDAQ:GNBT), SEMPRA ENERGY (NYSE:SRE), HJ HEINZ CO (NYSE:HNZ), EXELON CORP (NYSE:EXC), TEK DIGITEL CORPORATION (OTC:TEKI), DR PEPPER SNAPPLE GROUP INC (NYSE:DPS). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction GNBT $0.018 14.06% 2,029,434 75.88% 645,070 24.12% 1,384,364 769,091 SRE $0.490 0.83% 2,447,056 74.19% 291,875 8.85% 2,155,181 43,983 HNZ $0.130 0.25% 3,736,220 78.11% 418,186 8.74% 3,318,034 255,233 EXC $0.660 1.68% 8,359,016 39.04% 6,359,651 29.71% 1,999,365 30,293 TEKI $0.019 2,400.00% 3,456,518 61.26% 2,180,950 38.65% 1,275,568 664,358 DPS $0.440 1.16% 2,440,609 69.34% 563,086 16.00% 1,877,523 42,671Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows GNBT with a Net Buy Volume of 1,384,364 shares and a Friction Factor of 769,091 shares. That means that it takes 769,091 more shares of buying than selling to move GNBT higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Monday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
