March 12, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3802 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2421 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3374 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net sell volume on Monday and lowest negative price Friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. CISCO SYSTEMS INCORPORATED (NASDAQ:CSCO), JPMORGAN CHASE & CO. (NYSE:JPM), ING Groep NV (NYSE:ING), INTEL CORPORATION (NASDAQ:INTC), Clearwire Corp (NASDAQ:CLWR), CANNABIS SCIENCE INC (OTCBB:CBIS). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  CSCO $-0.010 -0.05% 10,203,502 36.43% 13,646,272 48.73% -3,442,770 -3,442,770
  JPM $-0.560 -1.38% 9,259,023 30.26% 10,836,520 35.42% -1,577,497 -28,170
  ING $-0.080 -0.91% 2,462,002 32.22% 4,074,984 53.33% -1,612,982 -201,623
  INTC $-0.110 -0.41% 10,782,505 43.17% 14,176,151 56.76% -3,393,646 -308,513
  CLWR $-0.040 -1.90% 3,972,621 40.70% 5,746,310 58.87% -1,773,689 -443,422
  CBIS $-0.018 -13.30% 11,908,054 43.42% 15,590,446 56.85% -3,682,392 -2,034,471
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have low price friction combined with more selling than buying (negative Net Volume) in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CSCO down $-0.01000 with a Friction Factor of -3,442,770 and a Net Volume of -3,442,770. That means that it takes 3,442,770 more shares of selling than buying to drop CSCO by one penny. On Monday the Market Makers allowed the stock to move down on heavier selling than buying (low negative friction).
