March 9, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3599 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3806 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2088 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Asantae Holdings International Inc (AMEX:JVA), GSE SYSTEMS INC (AMEX:GVP), CHINA NATURAL GAS INC (OTC:CHNG), Homeowners Choice Inc. Warrant (NASDAQ:HCIIW), VERSO PAPER CORP (NYSE:VRS), BIOSTAR PHARMACEUTICALS INC (OTC:BSPM). Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction JVA $2.850 36.31% 2,445,988 56.50% 1,816,906 41.97% 629,082 2,207 GVP $0.410 22.40% 259,592 31.07% 241,478 28.90% 18,114 442 CHNG $0.290 25.20% 179,679 49.09% 93,368 25.51% 86,311 2,978 HCIIW $0.600 52.20% 63,700 64.96% 33,157 33.81% 30,543 509 VRS $0.450 21.95% 636,243 34.88% 588,316 32.25% 47,927 1,065 BSPM $0.260 33.33% 1,563,280 55.86% 1,098,236 39.24% 465,044 17,886Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows JVA with a dollar gain Friday of $2.85000 and a Friction Factor of 2,207 shares. That means that it only took 2,207 more shares of buying than selling to move JVA higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
