March 8, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 3546 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4129 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1810 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Thursday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. IBIO INC (AMEX:IBIO), STERLING RESOURCES LTD (OTC:SGURF), LIGHTWAVE LOGIC INC (OTCBB:LWLG), China Information Tech Incorporated (NASDAQ:CNIT), ZOGENIX INC (NASDAQ:ZGNX), (NASDAQ:ZLTQ). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  IBIO $-0.130 -11.02% 41,530 20.13% 86,197 41.78% -44,667 -3,436
  SGURF $-0.358 -18.43% 32,600 37.34% 39,700 45.48% -7,100 -198
  LWLG $-0.220 -12.22% 31,100 16.12% 134,372 69.65% -103,272 -4,694
  CNIT $-0.150 -12.00% 78,068 43.53% 101,263 56.47% -23,195 -1,546
  ZGNX $-0.390 -13.98% 474,454 44.55% 589,474 55.35% -115,020 -2,949
  ZLTQ $-0.860 -13.21% 716,631 45.13% 870,992 54.85% -154,361 -1,795
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows IBIO with a dollar loss Thursday of $-0.13000 and a Friction Factor of -3,436 shares. That means that it only took 3,436 more shares of selling than buying to move IBIO lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
