March 6, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3395 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1074 companies with positive Friction Factors and 5264 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. ADVANCED SEMICONDUCTOR E-ADR (NYSE:ASX), Nokia Oyj (NYSE:NOK), CISCO SYSTEMS INCORPORATED (NASDAQ:CSCO), MICROSOFT CORPORATION (NASDAQ:MSFT), SCHWAB (NYSE:SCHW), ALCATEL-LUCENT-SPONSORED ADR (NYSE:ALU). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     ASX $-0.100 -2.13% 2,325,274 576.13% 109,474 27.12% 2,215,800 Abnormal
     NOK $-0.200 -3.87% 16,513,990 31.28% 13,062,152 24.74% 3,451,838 Abnormal
     CSCO $-0.180 -0.91% 20,953,176 56.16% 16,300,552 43.69% 4,652,624 Abnormal
     MSFT $-0.270 -0.85% 28,481,833 53.68% 24,533,567 46.24% 3,948,266 Abnormal
     SCHW $-0.250 -1.82% 5,579,961 34.90% 3,656,036 22.86% 1,923,925 Abnormal
     ALU $-0.140 -5.67% 10,413,482 37.71% 7,816,745 28.31% 2,596,737 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Tuesday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows ASX with 2,215,800 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.10000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
