March 5, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3570 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2317 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3755 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Monday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Microvision Inc (NASDAQ:MVIS), CARDERO RESOURCE CORP (AMEX:CDY), A123 SYSTEMS, INCORPORATION (NASDAQ:AONE), BLUE EARTH INC (OTCBB:BBLU), (NASDAQ:FFN), (NYSE:YELP). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     MVIS $-0.380 -13.24% 205,000 43.30% 267,603 56.53% -62,603 -1,647
     CDY $-0.160 -12.40% 28,900 14.63% 61,713 31.24% -32,813 -2,051
     AONE $-0.220 -12.09% 1,955,302 47.38% 2,171,066 52.61% -215,764 -9,807
     BBLU $-0.140 -11.29% 33,050 43.63% 42,200 55.71% -9,150 -654
     FFN $-0.220 -12.57% 169,061 38.44% 270,773 61.56% -101,712 -4,623
     YELP $-3.680 -14.97% 858,025 28.79% 972,721 32.64% -114,696 -312
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows MVIS with a dollar loss Monday of $-0.38000 and a Friction Factor of -1,647 shares. That means that it only took 1,647 more shares of selling than buying to move MVIS lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
