March 1, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 3925 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3384 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2360 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Thursday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Veolia Environnement Ve SA (NYSE:VE), MEMSIC INC (NASDAQ:MEMS), SINO CLEAN ENERGY INC (OTC:SCEI), MONSTER WORLDWIDE INC (NYSE:MWW), HISOFT TECHNOLOGY INT-ADR (NASDAQ:HSFT), (OTC:NGPHF). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     VE $1.890 15.58% 1,248,564 41.09% 992,706 32.67% 255,858 1,354
     MEMS $0.580 19.02% 569,639 53.03% 483,441 45.00% 86,198 1,486
     SCEI $0.620 41.33% 2,814,766 54.72% 2,288,329 44.49% 526,437 8,491
     MWW $1.070 15.42% 8,993,665 33.59% 7,813,941 29.19% 1,179,724 11,025
     HSFT $1.730 14.18% 425,224 53.15% 365,289 45.66% 59,935 346
     NGPHF $0.316 17.10% 83,990 47.20% 28,850 16.21% 55,140 1,748
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows VE with a dollar gain Thursday of $1.89000 and a Friction Factor of 1,354 shares. That means that it only took 1,354 more shares of buying than selling to move VE higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
