February 29, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3496 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2196 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3918 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. FORWARD INDUSTRIES INC (NASDAQ:FORD), INFINITY ENERGY RESOURCES (OTC:IFNY), FOOD TECHNOLOGY SERVICE INC (NASDAQ:VIFL), ALUMINA LTD (OTC:AWCMF), STEVIA CO INC (OTC:STEV), WAVEFRONT TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIO (OTC:WFTSF). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction FORD $0.530 22.46% 206,632 49.57% 204,214 48.99% 2,418 46 IFNY $0.300 20.00% 119,410 50.65% 31,515 13.37% 87,895 2,930 VIFL $1.110 19.35% 41,490 60.50% 26,271 38.31% 15,219 137 AWCMF $0.268 22.10% 354,728 89.87% 40,000 10.13% 314,728 11,748 STEV $0.180 16.22% 453,015 54.77% 383,172 46.32% 69,843 3,880 WFTSF $0.150 17.65% 47,470 56.20% 31,100 36.82% 16,370 1,091Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows FORD with a dollar gain Wednesday of $0.53000 and a Friction Factor of 46 shares. That means that it only took 46 more shares of buying than selling to move FORD higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
