February 28, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 3802 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3007 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3087 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Tuesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. ATLANTIC AMERICAN CORP (NASDAQ:AAME), NOVABAY PHARMACEUTICALS INC (AMEX:NBY), OFFICE DEPOT INC (NYSE:ODP), SUMMER INFANT INC (NASDAQ:SUMR), ALIMERA SCIENCES INC (NASDAQ:ALIM), LENTUO INTERNATI-SPON ADS (NYSE:LAS). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     AAME $0.490 22.07% 62,947 56.59% 45,280 40.71% 17,667 361
     NBY $0.370 30.33% 47,499 37.59% 25,113 19.88% 22,386 605
     ODP $0.580 19.27% 5,930,900 32.50% 5,530,218 30.30% 400,682 6,908
     SUMR $1.200 25.00% 265,719 62.56% 153,528 36.15% 112,191 935
     ALIM $1.550 67.10% 2,924,162 52.68% 2,581,832 46.51% 342,330 2,209
     LAS $0.810 19.85% 67,714 33.54% 57,187 28.32% 10,527 130
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows AAME with a dollar gain Tuesday of $0.49000 and a Friction Factor of 361 shares. That means that it only took 361 more shares of buying than selling to move AAME higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
