February 24, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3628 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3044 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3014 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Friday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. COBRA ELECTRONICS CORP (NASDAQ:COBR), WORLD FUEL SERVICES CORP (NYSE:INT), China Sunergy Co Ltd (NASDAQ:CSUN), PGT Inc (NASDAQ:PGTI), OCULUS INNOVATIVE SCIENCES I (NASDAQ:OCLS), TOP SHIPS INC (NASDAQ:TOPS). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     COBR $-1.180 -20.38% 211,270 39.17% 322,633 59.81% -111,363 -944
     INT $-5.060 -10.34% 702,158 27.24% 846,248 32.83% -144,090 -285
     CSUN $-0.330 -11.30% 54,240 34.22% 99,872 63.01% -45,632 -1,383
     PGTI $-0.300 -16.76% 73,590 42.17% 100,900 57.83% -27,310 -910
     OCLS $-0.140 -10.00% 73,533 45.85% 86,840 54.15% -13,307 -951
     TOPS $-0.470 -13.45% 42,820 40.60% 62,651 59.40% -19,831 -422
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows COBR with a dollar loss Friday of $-1.18000 and a Friction Factor of -944 shares. That means that it only took 944 more shares of selling than buying to move COBR lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
