February 15, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4008 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2469 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3227 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Cimarex Energy Co (NYSE:XEC), VAALCO Energy Inc (NYSE:EGY), CHINA HYDROELECTRIC CP-ADS (NYSE:CHC), CYBEX INTERNATIONAL INC (NASDAQ:CYBI), ALL FUELS & ENERGY CO (OTC:AFSE), BLUE EARTH INC (OTCBB:BBLU). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     XEC $12.810 18.62% 1,757,567 26.56% 1,687,919 25.51% 69,648 54
     EGY $1.430 19.94% 1,539,222 33.67% 1,452,471 31.77% 86,751 607
     CHC $0.290 19.08% 47,952 35.69% 43,412 32.31% 4,540 157
     CYBI $0.350 22.70% 360,857 52.06% 323,743 46.70% 37,114 1,060
     AFSE $0.290 30.21% 38,214 25.36% 37,579 24.94% 635 22
     BBLU $0.220 19.47% 90,865 75.25% 29,885 24.75% 60,980 2,772
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XEC with a dollar gain Wednesday of $12.81000 and a Friction Factor of 54 shares. That means that it only took 54 more shares of buying than selling to move XEC higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
