February 15, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4008 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2469 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3227 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Wednesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. SMF Energy Corp (NASDAQ:FUEL), SPIRE CORP (NASDAQ:SPIR), IMPERIAL SUGAR CO (NASDAQ:IPSU), MINNESOTA ELECTRS CO (NASDAQ:MNEL), SINO-GLOBAL SHIPPING AMERICA (NASDAQ:SINO), CHINA SKY ONE MEDICAL INC (NASDAQ:CSKI). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     FUEL $-0.500 -12.08% 103,342 34.66% 194,732 65.31% -91,390 -1,828
     SPIR $-0.220 -14.01% 39,729 43.26% 53,705 58.48% -13,976 -635
     IPSU $-0.990 -14.82% 572,671 43.64% 736,510 56.12% -163,839 -1,655
     MNEL $-0.320 -18.93% 362,816 44.12% 459,355 55.86% -96,539 -3,017
     SINO $-0.520 -13.97% 71,650 40.39% 105,229 59.32% -33,579 -646
     CSKI $-0.430 -28.10% 216,450 40.87% 313,172 59.13% -96,722 -2,249
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows FUEL with a dollar loss Wednesday of $-0.50000 and a Friction Factor of -1,828 shares. That means that it only took 1,828 more shares of selling than buying to move FUEL lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
