February 13, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 3666 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4071 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2156 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Monday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. BLUE DOLPHIN ENERGY CO (OTC:BDCO), EARTHSTONE ENERGY INC (OTC:ESTE), MINNESOTA ELECTRS CO (NASDAQ:MNEL), Pyramid Oil Co (AMEX:PDO), NEXXUS LIGHTING INC (NASDAQ:NEXS), IDERA PHARMACEUTICALS INC (NASDAQ:IDRA). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     BDCO $4.120 79.71% 500,676 56.01% 385,770 43.16% 114,906 279
     ESTE $3.940 22.51% 74,430 31.13% 61,212 25.60% 13,218 34
     MNEL $0.540 40.00% 1,705,014 50.50% 1,661,562 49.21% 43,452 805
     PDO $0.900 23.13% 94,335 30.34% 86,730 27.90% 7,605 85
     NEXS $0.250 28.29% 207,169 57.25% 154,672 42.75% 52,497 2,100
     IDRA $0.340 28.33% 117,421 56.80% 89,319 43.20% 28,102 827
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BDCO with a dollar gain Monday of $4.12000 and a Friction Factor of 279 shares. That means that it only took 279 more shares of buying than selling to move BDCO higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
