February 10, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3734 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1805 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4137 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. TANDY BRANDS ACCESSORIES INC (NASDAQ:TBAC), SPIRE CORP (NASDAQ:SPIR), MINNESOTA ELECTRS CO (NASDAQ:MNEL), NORTHERN OFFSHORE LTD (OTC:NFSHF), OCULUS INNOVATIVE SCIENCES I (NASDAQ:OCLS), (AMEX:SED). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     TBAC $0.950 92.08% 372,104 51.92% 338,638 47.25% 33,466 352
     SPIR $0.380 36.89% 102,977 55.75% 80,521 43.60% 22,456 591
     MNEL $0.440 48.35% 1,667,793 57.25% 1,234,069 42.36% 433,724 9,857
     NFSHF $0.500 21.74% 273,000 35.01% 150,250 19.27% 122,750 2,455
     OCLS $0.260 28.71% 301,854 60.29% 198,197 39.58% 103,657 3,987
     SED $1.390 47.77% 63,252 21.95% 46,456 16.12% 16,796 121
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows TBAC with a dollar gain Friday of $0.95000 and a Friction Factor of 352 shares. That means that it only took 352 more shares of buying than selling to move TBAC higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
