February 8, 2012 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 3930 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3120 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2796 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY (NYSE:GE), Golden Telecom Inc (NASDAQ:GLDN), Cemex SAB de CV (NYSE:CX), CISCO SYSTEMS INCORPORATED (NASDAQ:CSCO), INTEL CORPORATION (NASDAQ:INTC), (NASDAQ:QQQ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     GE $0.060 0.31% 10,813,445 32.26% 12,542,197 37.42% -1,728,752 Abnormal
     GLDN $0.027 75.71% 3,058,801 39.23% 4,737,866 60.77% -1,679,065 Abnormal
     CX $0.030 0.36% 5,502,565 26.08% 7,011,836 33.23% -1,509,271 Abnormal
     CSCO $0.880 4.36% 40,409,715 47.67% 42,327,805 49.93% -1,918,090 Abnormal
     INTC $0.210 0.79% 17,279,122 43.83% 21,437,380 54.38% -4,158,258 Abnormal
     QQQ $0.410 0.66% 19,436,999 48.43% 20,695,374 51.57% -1,258,375 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Wednesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows GE with 1,728,752 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.06000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
