IRD Awarded Illinois Maintenance Contract Valued at CAD $1.3 Million

SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwire - Oct. 6, 2011) - International Road Dynamics Inc. (TSX:IRD) (IRD) has recently received a Commercial Vehicle Operations (CVO) Maintenance Contract from the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) valued at approximately CAD $1.3 Million including renewal options. The purpose of this contract is to maintain and maximize use of Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) Systems located at weigh stations throughout the State, to protect the Department's infrastructure from damage caused by overweight trucks, enforce size and weight laws, and meet federal size and weight goals. This contract is a long term agreement for four years with an option to renew for one additional year.

The Illinois Department of Transportation has 32 Weigh-in-Motion systems identified within this agreement. IRD will be responsible for all repairs, maintenance, and service to the Weigh-in-Motion systems at these site locations. IDOT and the Illinois State Police use these systems to weigh large volumes of commercial vehicles and count on them every day to screen truck traffic for potential violators.

Mr. Terry Bergan, IRD's President and CEO stated: "IRD continues to be the WIM systems leader for Commercial Vehicles Operations in the United States and worldwide, and looks forward to working with the Illinois Departments of Transportation. IDOT has been a long-term customer of IRD's for many years and we are pleased to have been selected to maintain their CVO systems. This maintenance and service agreement will add to our already substantial stream of maintenance agreements worldwide."
