September 29, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 4257 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3158 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2696 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Thursday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. PFIZER INC (NYSE:PFE), GENERAL ELECTRIC CO (NYSE:GE), SPECTRA ENERGY CORP (NYSE:SE), MASCO CORP (NYSE:MAS), ITAU UNIBANCO HLDNG-PREF ADR (NYSE:ITUB), HANWHA SOLARONE CO -SPON ADR (NASDAQ:HSOL). Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction PFE $0.420 2.39% 16,265,311 33.99% 11,053,252 23.10% 5,212,059 124,097 GE $0.440 2.85% 19,170,491 31.82% 14,934,925 24.79% 4,235,566 96,263 SE $0.490 1.99% 5,394,455 61.68% 1,166,743 13.34% 4,227,712 86,280 MAS $0.140 1.90% 7,671,281 70.85% 1,099,179 10.15% 6,572,102 469,436 ITUB $0.240 1.51% 9,127,468 41.83% 5,313,669 24.35% 3,813,799 158,908 HSOL $0.060 2.27% 6,127,421 131.52% 985,153 21.15% 5,142,268 857,045Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows PFE with a Net Buy Volume of 5,212,059 shares and a Friction Factor of 124,097 shares. That means that it takes 124,097 more shares of buying than selling to move PFE higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Thursday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
