September 19, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 1609 companies with "abnormal" market making, 592 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1678 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Monday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. BROADCOM CORP-CL A (NASDAQ:BRCM), FLEXTRONICS INTERNATIONAL LTD (NASDAQ:FLEX), APPLE INC (NASDAQ:AAPL), ARM HOLDINGS PLC-SPONS ADR (NASDAQ:ARMH), ATHENAHEALTH INC (NASDAQ:ATHN), FOX PETROLEUM INC (OTC:FXPT). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     BRCM $0.040 0.11% 3,802,876 54.43% 3,179,977 45.51% 622,899 155,725
     FLEX $0.070 1.18% 1,834,108 57.48% 1,356,624 42.52% 477,484 68,212
     AAPL $11.050 2.76% 14,774,573 50.93% 14,110,584 48.64% 663,989 601
     ARMH $0.030 0.11% 2,589,295 51.85% 2,232,730 44.71% 356,565 118,855
     ATHN $1.420 2.07% 1,224,264 58.17% 864,050 41.05% 360,214 2,537
     FXPT $0.013 35.14% 2,573,746 60.55% 1,640,609 38.60% 933,137 717,798
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BRCM with a Net Buy Volume of 622,899 shares and a Friction Factor of 155,725 shares. That means that it takes 155,725 more shares of buying than selling to move BRCM higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Monday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
