September 20, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 4019 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2140 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4062 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Tuesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. BANCO SANTANDER SA-SPON ADR (NYSE:STD), SARA LEE CORP (NYSE:SLE), HUNTINGTON BANCSHARES INC (NASDAQ:HBAN), HOME DEPOT INC (NYSE:HD), MCDONALD'S CORP (NYSE:MCD), GRID PETROLEUM CORP (OTCBB:GRPR). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction STD $0.230 2.88% 1,682,387 40.12% 855,824 20.41% 826,563 35,938 SLE $0.370 2.14% 3,716,456 43.05% 2,222,837 25.75% 1,493,619 40,368 HBAN $0.090 1.81% 7,548,479 54.40% 6,327,348 45.60% 1,221,131 135,681 HD $0.560 1.63% 5,030,029 37.00% 3,680,443 27.07% 1,349,586 24,100 MCD $0.510 0.57% 2,901,985 37.17% 1,994,531 25.55% 907,454 17,793 GRPR $0.022 233.33% 9,150,955 60.82% 5,895,891 39.18% 3,255,064 1,453,154Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows STD with a Net Buy Volume of 826,563 shares and a Friction Factor of 35,938 shares. That means that it takes 35,938 more shares of buying than selling to move STD higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Tuesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
