August 26, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3971 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4446 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1909 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. TASEKO MINES LTD (AMEX:TGB), DESWELL INDUSTRIES INC (NASDAQ:DSWL), FOOD TECHNOLOGY SERVICE INC (NASDAQ:VIFL), SOLTA MEDICAL INC (NASDAQ:SLTM), SUN RIVER ENERGY INC (OTCBB:SNRV), (OTC:BORK). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     TGB $0.700 21.28% 1,700,265 32.33% 1,447,436 27.52% 252,829 3,612
     DSWL $0.540 22.50% 66,806 62.70% 39,745 37.30% 27,061 501
     VIFL $1.270 27.55% 45,808 55.61% 26,270 31.89% 19,538 154
     SLTM $0.330 23.24% 173,577 60.20% 112,450 39.00% 61,127 1,852
     SNRV $0.680 22.15% 50,308 60.17% 31,800 38.03% 18,508 272
     BORK $0.600 26.67% 55,985 21.41% 46,143 17.65% 9,842 164
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows TGB with a dollar gain Friday of $0.70000 and a Friction Factor of 3,612 shares. That means that it only took 3,612 more shares of buying than selling to move TGB higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
