August 26, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 3971 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4446 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1909 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO (NYSE:GE), INTERPUBLIC GROUP OF COS INC (NYSE:IPG), INTEL CORP (NASDAQ:INTC), PEPSICO INC (NYSE:PEP), AMERICAN BONANZA GOLD CORP (OTC:ABGFF), (OTC:CRWV). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     GE $0.130 0.84% 14,358,650 23.02% 20,005,207 32.08% -5,646,557 Abnormal
     IPG $0.100 1.25% 2,594,344 16.48% 9,280,865 58.96% -6,686,521 Abnormal
     INTC $0.420 2.16% 25,318,043 47.04% 29,973,512 55.69% -4,655,469 Abnormal
     PEP $0.140 0.22% 2,002,373 16.31% 7,104,429 57.88% -5,102,056 Abnormal
     ABGFF $0.014 3.13% 188,920 1.26% 14,851,667 98.74% -14,662,747 Abnormal
     CRWV $0.011 13.10% 20,530,443 43.74% 24,746,000 52.72% -4,215,557 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Friday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows GE with 5,646,557 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.13000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
