July 28, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 4272 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2799 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3869 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Thursday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATION (NYSE:BAC), MICRON TECHNOLOGY INC (NASDAQ:MU), HERCULES OFFSHORE INC (NASDAQ:HERO), TELEKOM AUSTRIA AG (OTC:TKMAF), CALIBERT EXPLORATIONS LTD (OTCBB:CXLT), BLOCKBUSTER INCORPORATED (OTC:BLOAQ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction BAC $0.120 1.24% 37,881,798 35.58% 33,796,554 31.74% 4,085,244 340,437 MU $0.050 0.72% 16,258,594 51.79% 14,878,121 47.40% 1,380,473 276,095 HERO $0.390 8.87% 6,910,772 57.18% 5,152,572 42.63% 1,758,200 45,082 TKMAF $0.040 0.29% 21,025,000 65.65% 11,000,000 34.35% 10,025,000 2,506,250 CXLT $0.029 10.90% 1,771,479 75.09% 487,006 20.64% 1,284,473 442,922 BLOAQ $0.047 68.63% 8,948,468 55.96% 5,949,083 37.20% 2,999,385 643,645Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows BAC with a Net Buy Volume of 4,085,244 shares and a Friction Factor of 340,437 shares. That means that it takes 340,437 more shares of buying than selling to move BAC higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Thursday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
