June 29, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4401 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3781 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2571 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Wednesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. PFIZER INC (NYSE:PFE), NOKIA CORP-SPON ADR (NYSE:NOK), VISA INC-CLASS A SHARES (NYSE:V), SATCON TECHNOLOGY CORP (NASDAQ:SATC), TELEKOM AUSTRIA AG (OTC:TKMAF), TOTAL APPAREL GROUP INC (OTC:TLAG). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction PFE $0.060 0.30% 13,455,068 28.85% 11,422,156 24.49% 2,032,912 338,819 NOK $0.220 3.61% 11,910,841 36.91% 9,935,094 30.78% 1,975,747 89,807 V $12.310 16.35% 10,694,860 32.48% 7,846,938 23.83% 2,847,922 2,314 SATC $0.150 6.58% 3,607,910 92.42% 1,398,400 35.82% 2,209,510 147,301 TKMAF $0.040 0.29% 21,025,000 65.65% 11,000,000 34.35% 10,025,000 2,506,250 TLAG $0.014 971.43% 14,905,148 53.98% 12,706,500 46.02% 2,198,648 1,616,653Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows PFE with a Net Buy Volume of 2,032,912 shares and a Friction Factor of 338,819 shares. That means that it takes 338,819 more shares of buying than selling to move PFE higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Wednesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
