June 15, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4151 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1625 companies with positive Friction Factors and 5334 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATION (NYSE:BAC), GENERAL ELECTRIC CO (NYSE:GE), WELLS FARGO & CO (NYSE:WFC), SPRINT NEXTEL CORP (NYSE:S), ORACLE CORP (NASDAQ:ORCL), (NASDAQ:QQQ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     BAC $-0.310 -2.87% 74,410,114 35.47% 63,602,118 30.32% 10,807,996 Abnormal
     GE $-0.210 -1.13% 17,049,611 29.59% 14,771,867 25.64% 2,277,744 Abnormal
     WFC $-0.450 -1.67% 12,278,528 28.91% 11,002,487 25.90% 1,276,041 Abnormal
     S $-0.030 -0.56% 20,223,189 31.28% 18,155,845 28.09% 2,067,344 Abnormal
     ORCL $-0.710 -2.21% 19,785,545 56.22% 15,339,856 43.59% 4,445,689 Abnormal
     QQQ $-0.970 -1.75% 28,239,090 50.93% 26,203,047 47.26% 2,036,043 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Wednesday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BAC with 10,807,996 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.31000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
