June 8, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 2400 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1300 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3994 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Wednesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. COGO GROUP INC (NASDAQ:COGO), MGIC INVESTMENT CORP (NYSE:MTG), TELEBRAS-SPONS ADR (NYSE:TBH), ALLOY STEEL INTERNATIONAL (OTC:AYSI), QUINSTREET INC (NASDAQ:QNST), ECHO THERAPEUTICS INC (OTCBB:ECTE). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     COGO $-1.020 -16.11% 718,993 45.42% 804,666 50.83% -85,673 -840
     MTG $-1.370 -18.84% 7,023,882 31.78% 8,052,672 36.44% -1,028,790 -7,509
     TBH $-4.990 -50.92% 56,842 29.24% 76,989 39.60% -20,147 -40
     AYSI $-0.250 -18.80% 37,664 26.78% 102,996 73.22% -65,332 -2,613
     QNST $-3.520 -23.99% 1,750,985 40.04% 2,591,624 59.26% -840,639 -2,388
     ECTE $-0.750 -18.99% 264,232 44.03% 335,846 55.97% -71,614 -955
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows COGO with a dollar loss Wednesday of $-1.02000 and a Friction Factor of -840 shares. That means that it only took 840 more shares of selling than buying to move COGO lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
