June 8, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 2400 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1300 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3994 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Wednesday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. ACCELER8 TECHNOLOGY CORP (AMEX:AXK), RENTRAK CORP (NASDAQ:RENT), SINO-FOREST CORP (OTC:SNOFF), ULTA SALON COSMETICS & FRAGR (NASDAQ:ULTA), CHINA-BIOTICS INC (NASDAQ:CHBT), TARA MINERALS CORP (OTCBB:TARM). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     AXK $0.770 13.82% 217,271 39.19% 182,705 32.96% 34,566 449
     RENT $2.800 14.43% 64,241 51.40% 58,726 46.99% 5,515 20
     SNOFF $0.642 15.46% 861,907 25.29% 794,456 23.31% 67,451 1,051
     ULTA $6.250 12.60% 2,018,315 51.27% 1,843,598 46.83% 174,717 280
     CHBT $0.750 15.53% 1,572,014 50.43% 1,496,223 48.00% 75,791 1,011
     TARM $0.200 15.38% 56,808 57.98% 41,170 42.02% 15,638 782
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows AXK with a dollar gain Wednesday of $0.77000 and a Friction Factor of 449 shares. That means that it only took 449 more shares of buying than selling to move AXK higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
