May 18, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 2490 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3614 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1497 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Wednesday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. MATERIALS SELECT SECTOR SPDR (NYSE:XLB), ISHARES RUSSELL 2000 (NYSE:IWM), PFIZER INC (NYSE:PFE), GENERAL ELECTRIC CO (NYSE:GE), SARA LEE CORP (NYSE:SLE), INTERNATIONAL COAL GROUP INC (NYSE:ICO). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     XLB $0.870 2.30% 7,465,210 42.40% 3,206,227 18.21% 4,258,983 48,954
     IWM $1.430 1.74% 20,371,070 37.38% 11,661,715 21.40% 8,709,355 60,905
     PFE $0.070 0.33% 17,014,321 37.76% 11,499,219 25.52% 5,515,102 787,872
     GE $0.170 0.87% 16,770,152 36.51% 12,561,540 27.34% 4,208,612 247,565
     SLE $0.130 0.67% 6,310,548 59.90% 2,174,161 20.64% 4,136,387 318,184
     ICO $0.040 0.28% 7,473,837 59.48% 1,693,105 13.47% 5,780,732 1,445,183
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XLB with a Net Buy Volume of 4,258,983 shares and a Friction Factor of 48,954 shares. That means that it takes 48,954 more shares of buying than selling to move XLB higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Wednesday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
