April 8, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 2368 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1988 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3397 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. CHINA AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS INC (NASDAQ:CAAS), SUNLINK HEALTH SYSTEMS INC (AMEX:SSY), HORIZON LINES INC-CL A (NYSE:HRZ), GENETIC TECH LTD-SP ADR (NASDAQ:GENE), SYNTHESIS ENERGY SYSTEMS INC (NASDAQ:SYMX), SEARCHMEDIA HOLDINGS LTD (AMEX:IDI). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     CAAS $2.900 35.63% 1,562,883 52.37% 1,386,787 46.47% 176,096 607
     SSY $0.420 28.00% 80,596 56.62% 49,667 34.89% 30,929 736
     HRZ $0.380 26.57% 5,722,457 48.29% 5,305,261 44.77% 417,196 10,979
     GENE $0.510 19.25% 161,302 59.50% 105,602 38.96% 55,700 1,092
     SYMX $0.560 20.59% 2,008,713 53.46% 1,642,794 43.72% 365,919 6,534
     IDI $0.260 16.46% 45,749 53.60% 35,701 41.83% 10,048 386
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CAAS with a dollar gain Friday of $2.90000 and a Friction Factor of 607 shares. That means that it only took 607 more shares of buying than selling to move CAAS higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
