April 7, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 2371 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1964 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3380 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. ISHARES FTSE CHINA 25 INDEX (NYSE:FXI), ISHARES RUSSELL 2000 (NYSE:IWM), GENERAL ELECTRIC CO (NYSE:GE), CMS ENERGY CORP (NYSE:CMS), CISCO SYSTEMS INC (NASDAQ:CSCO), SIONIX CORPORATION (OTCBB:SINX). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     FXI $-0.270 -0.59% 11,672,376 77.66% 6,092,373 40.54% 5,580,003 Abnormal
     IWM $-0.510 -0.60% 35,151,934 50.61% 32,078,008 46.19% 3,073,926 Abnormal
     GE $-0.200 -0.97% 24,144,788 46.30% 21,518,186 41.27% 2,626,602 Abnormal
     CMS $-0.050 -0.25% 3,906,489 63.50% 1,782,918 28.98% 2,123,571 Abnormal
     CSCO $-0.190 -1.05% 61,144,095 51.29% 59,426,617 49.85% 1,717,478 Abnormal
     SINX $-0.051 -27.14% 10,006,290 52.24% 8,352,180 43.60% 1,654,110 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Thursday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows FXI with 5,580,003 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.27000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
