April 1, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 2530 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3271 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1989 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Friday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. INHIBITEX INC (NASDAQ:INHX), CKX INC (NASDAQ:CKXE), RAMTRON INTERNATIONAL CORP (NASDAQ:RMTR), DYNATRONICS CORP (NASDAQ:DYNT), BANK OF IRELAND-SPONS ADR (NYSE:IRE), HORIZON LINES INC-CL A (NYSE:HRZ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     INHX $1.130 31.22% 2,587,963 52.93% 2,295,208 46.94% 292,755 2,591
     CKXE $0.650 15.40% 1,013,695 49.18% 1,000,408 48.54% 13,287 204
     RMTR $0.420 19.44% 122,597 55.55% 97,893 44.36% 24,704 588
     DYNT $0.260 22.21% 653,833 60.15% 434,598 39.98% 219,235 8,432
     IRE $0.400 22.86% 8,772,748 52.80% 7,267,961 43.74% 1,504,787 37,620
     HRZ $0.420 49.41% 5,854,084 53.29% 4,650,430 42.34% 1,203,654 28,658
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows INHX with a dollar gain Friday of $1.13000 and a Friction Factor of 2,591 shares. That means that it only took 2,591 more shares of buying than selling to move INHX higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
