March 14, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 2544 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1715 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3750 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Monday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. CHENIERE ENERGY INC (AMEX:LNG), GULFPORT ENERGY CORP (NASDAQ:GPOR), POWER-ONE INC (NASDAQ:PWER), CHINA ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEER (NASDAQ:CAEI), SYNTHESIS ENERGY SYSTEMS INC (NASDAQ:SYMX), PROSHARES ULTRASHORT MSCI JA (NYSE:EWV). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     LNG $1.150 15.86% 3,941,386 46.96% 3,708,214 44.19% 233,172 2,028
     GPOR $3.470 13.68% 1,391,892 54.70% 1,136,549 44.67% 255,343 736
     PWER $0.880 12.10% 4,308,880 53.50% 3,737,934 46.41% 570,946 6,488
     CAEI $0.330 34.74% 354,455 52.85% 316,260 47.15% 38,195 1,157
     SYMX $0.280 18.79% 685,050 54.98% 560,860 45.02% 124,190 4,435
     EWV $5.030 14.78% 382,857 43.73% 381,134 43.53% 1,723 3
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows LNG with a dollar gain Monday of $1.15000 and a Friction Factor of 2,028 shares. That means that it only took 2,028 more shares of buying than selling to move LNG higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
