February 18, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 2598 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2975 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2191 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Friday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. COMCAST CORP-CLASS A (NASDAQ:CMCSA), EXXON MOBIL CORP (NYSE:XOM), CISCO SYSTEMS INC (NASDAQ:CSCO), SPRINT NEXTEL CORP (NYSE:S), INTEL CORP (NASDAQ:INTC), PROSPECT CAPITAL CORP (NASDAQ:PSEC). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     CMCSA $0.440 1.75% 14,465,926 64.22% 8,046,369 35.72% 6,419,557 145,899
     XOM $0.630 0.75% 13,067,393 59.07% 6,231,420 28.17% 6,835,973 108,508
     CSCO $0.160 0.86% 53,106,930 58.22% 43,579,944 47.78% 9,526,986 595,437
     S $0.060 1.35% 34,482,012 52.18% 26,334,024 39.85% 8,147,988 1,357,998
     INTC $0.170 0.75% 39,673,837 69.89% 22,575,745 39.77% 17,098,092 1,005,770
     PSEC $0.250 2.06% 11,481,887 111.80% 1,913,979 18.64% 9,567,908 382,716
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows CMCSA with a Net Buy Volume of 6,419,557 shares and a Friction Factor of 145,899 shares. That means that it takes 145,899 more shares of buying than selling to move CMCSA higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Friday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
