Ford's Driving Skills for Life expands into 15 states, invests $1 million
In a major expansion of Ford Driving Skills for Life, teens in 15 states will learn proper driving skills through hands-on driving clinics with professional drivers in their own high school parking lots. The additional $1 million investment gives more students the chance to take part in the program that offers web training, contests and other interactive tools to teach new drivers safe driving skills. Teeter-totter demonstrates Explorer capabilities at Chicago Auto Show
Chicago Auto Show visitors to the Ford stand have the opportunity to ride in a new Ford Explorer as it navigates a teeter-totter to demonstrate the capabilities of its Intelligent 4WD with Terrain Management System™. If you had an all-new Ford Explorer for a week, what would you do and where would you go? This lays the groundwork for thenew "Go. Do. Adventures" program inviting consumers to suggest how they would use an Explorer to create their own unique adventure. Focus Rally: America jump-starts in Miami
Focus Rally: America has launched into high gear as the six rally teams kicked off their adventure in Miami; viewers can check out the action in video webisodes on Hulu. The Focus rally took center stage during the "Focus Rally: America Pre-Kick" on Super Bowl Sunday, with two spots that invited viewers to participate in Ford's social media campaign. 2011 Super Duty regains towing leadership
The 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty now has the highest conventional tow ratings across the board. Production is under way on F-350 and F-450 dual-rear-wheel models with the award-winning 6.7-liter Power Stroke® V8 turbocharged diesel that now include more higher-strength steel in the frame and hitch. These pickups can tow up to 17,500 pounds – 1,000 pounds more than the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 4x2 and 500 pounds more than Silverado and Sierra 4x4. Focus Electric consumer test rides double as learning experience for engineers
The "Living Electric" display at the 2011 North American International Auto Show wasn't just an opportunity for visitors to ride in an electric vehicle – it also was a time for Ford engineers to learn more about the all-new Focus Electric. An onboard data acquisition system was connected to the car computer, where critical information on what was happening while the vehicle was running or charging could be transmitted. Ford engineers were then able to go online and pull up data via a website to monitor information about the vehicle at the same time customers were riding in it. [ more... ]
