February 7, 2011 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 2568 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3415 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1968 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the highest net buy volume on Monday and lowest price Friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. CITIGROUP INC (NYSE:C), BANK OF AMERICA CORP (NYSE:BAC), DUKE ENERGY CORP (NYSE:DUK), QWEST COMMUNICATIONS INTL (NYSE:Q), ELI LILLY & CO (NYSE:LLY), EXELON CORP (NYSE:EXC). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
     C $0.080 1.66% 213,277,360 54.32% 169,370,117 43.14% 43,907,243 5,488,405
     BAC $0.390 2.73% 70,809,901 47.40% 64,542,844 43.21% 6,267,057 160,694
     DUK $0.140 0.78% 18,101,778 80.63% 3,644,631 16.23% 14,457,147 1,032,653
     Q $0.070 0.99% 19,350,668 71.71% 6,270,995 23.24% 13,079,673 1,868,525
     LLY $0.170 0.48% 18,140,859 85.53% 2,483,889 11.71% 15,656,970 920,998
     EXC $0.360 0.85% 11,155,514 82.68% 2,021,906 14.98% 9,133,608 253,711

Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar gains (Change) and very low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows EXC with a Net Buy Volume of 9,133,608 shares and a Friction Factor of 253,711 shares. That means that it takes 253,711 more shares of buying than selling to move EXC higher by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to move up higher as of Monday (lower friction). And with one of the highest Net Buy Volumes, the combination of low friction and high net buy volume is bullish.
