May 22, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Monday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Monday there were 5288 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3771 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2259 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (NYSE:EEM), QUALCOMM Incorporated (NASDAQ:QCOM), Visa Inc. (NYSE:V), Market Vectors Gold Miners ETF (NYSE:GDX), The Blackstone Group L.P. (NYSE:BX), American Realty Capital Properties Inc. (NYSE:VER). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  EEM $0.050 0.00% 13,875,175 28.52% 19,180,882 39.43% -5,305,707 Abnormal
  QCOM $1.610 0.03% 5,669,616 29.35% 7,881,927 40.80% -2,212,311 Abnormal
  V $0.830 0.01% 1,944,491 18.52% 4,457,447 42.44% -2,512,956 Abnormal
  GDX $0.310 0.01% 11,399,417 22.74% 21,289,853 42.47% -9,890,436 Abnormal
  BX $2.070 0.07% 6,480,251 29.24% 9,580,695 43.24% -3,100,444 Abnormal
  VER $0.070 0.01% 2,412,651 21.07% 5,079,693 44.37% -2,667,042 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Monday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows EEM with 5,305,707 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.05000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
