May 4, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5324 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2476 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3514 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. US Bancorp (NYSE:USB), NiSource Inc. (NYSE:NI), iShares S&P 500 Growth Index Fund (NYSE:IVW), CF Industries Holdings Inc. (NYSE:CF), iSh US ETF Tr Shs Short Maturity Bond ETF (NYSE:NEAR), (:AMGP). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  USB $0.100 0.00% 1,263,163 20.22% 2,409,073 38.57% -1,145,910 Abnormal
  NI $0.040 0.00% 1,037,736 19.39% 2,372,136 44.33% -1,334,400 Abnormal
  IVW $0.030 0.00% 255,988 12.45% 1,476,432 71.79% -1,220,444 Abnormal
  CF $1.560 0.06% 3,345,947 22.45% 5,858,834 39.32% -2,512,887 Abnormal
  NEAR $0.010 0.00% 144,357 6.97% 1,827,987 88.29% -1,683,630 Abnormal
  AMGP $22.000 0.00% 1,602,330 11.60% 3,923,240 28.39% -2,320,910 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Thursday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows USB with 1,145,910 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.10000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
