April 28, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 5769 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2600 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3034 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. Financial Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLF), The AES Corporation (NYSE:AES), iShares COMEX Gold Trust (NYSE:IAU), Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), Telephone and Data Systems Inc (NYSE:TDS), Market Vectors Gold Miners ETF (NYSE:GDX). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  XLF $0.010 0.00% 18,344,183 29.39% 23,562,511 37.75% -5,218,328 Abnormal
  AES $0.020 0.00% 1,654,066 26.97% 3,008,004 49.04% -1,353,938 Abnormal
  IAU $0.020 0.00% 2,236,616 29.92% 3,903,243 52.21% -1,666,627 Abnormal
  MSFT $0.180 0.00% 10,650,356 27.06% 14,642,672 37.20% -3,992,316 Abnormal
  TDS $0.200 0.01% 440,255 8.93% 3,488,838 70.78% -3,048,583 Abnormal
  GDX $0.450 0.02% 18,224,992 27.38% 33,456,494 50.27% -15,231,502 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Friday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XLF with 5,218,328 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.01000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
