April 25, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5579 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3664 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2321 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (NYSE:EEM), Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C), Bank of America Corporation (NYSE:BAC), Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), Regions Financial Corporation (NYSE:RF), Eastgate Biotech Corp (PINK:ETBI). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  EEM $0.360 0.01% 14,010,236 25.78% 19,283,084 35.48% -5,272,848 Abnormal
  C $0.770 0.01% 5,325,872 24.12% 8,593,166 38.92% -3,267,294 Abnormal
  BAC $0.360 0.02% 42,938,890 32.33% 48,054,298 36.18% -5,115,408 Abnormal
  MSFT $0.470 0.01% 7,383,738 24.65% 12,887,445 43.02% -5,503,707 Abnormal
  RF $0.050 0.00% 7,205,184 25.46% 11,928,333 42.15% -4,723,149 Abnormal
  ETBI $0.011 1.64% 27,645,166 40.15% 40,465,784 58.76% -12,820,618 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Tuesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows EEM with 5,272,848 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.36000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
