April 20, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5450 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3858 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2031 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Flex Ltd. (NASDAQ:FLEX), Sirius XM Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:SIRI), Ocwen Financial Corporation (NYSE:OCN), PulteGroup Inc. (NYSE:PHM), B2Gold Corp (NYSE:BTG), Oasis Petroleum Inc. (NYSE:OAS). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  FLEX $-0.030 -0.00% 3,877,403 42.19% 2,260,759 24.60% 1,616,644 Abnormal
  SIRI $-0.020 -0.00% 15,809,170 41.16% 13,379,302 34.83% 2,429,868 Abnormal
  OCN $-2.800 -0.52% 22,742,494 35.08% 21,615,372 33.34% 1,127,122 Abnormal
  PHM $-0.480 -0.02% 4,031,947 39.48% 2,966,777 29.05% 1,065,170 Abnormal
  BTG $-0.060 -0.02% 3,039,418 41.39% 1,760,807 23.98% 1,278,611 Abnormal
  OAS $-0.280 -0.02% 5,886,913 43.76% 3,511,275 26.10% 2,375,638 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Thursday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows FLEX with 1,616,644 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.03000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
