March 1, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 5201 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4471 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2027 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. iShares Dow Jones U.S. Real Estate Index Fund (NYSE:IYR), Utilities Select Sector SPDR (NYSE:XLU), Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC), Endo International plc (NASDAQ:ENDP), iShares iBoxx $ High Yield Corporate Bond Fund (NYSE:HYG), SPDR Barclays Capital High Yield Bond ETF (NYSE:JNK). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  IYR $-0.250 -0.00% 4,839,698 38.25% 2,618,586 20.69% 2,221,112 Abnormal
  XLU $-0.460 -0.01% 8,592,598 31.58% 7,148,951 26.27% 1,443,647 Abnormal
  INTC $-0.270 -0.01% 12,130,158 35.90% 10,135,997 30.00% 1,994,161 Abnormal
  ENDP $-0.890 -0.07% 33,322,693 51.34% 24,669,130 38.01% 8,653,563 Abnormal
  HYG $-0.040 -0.00% 3,877,731 31.70% 2,407,231 19.68% 1,470,500 Abnormal
  JNK $-0.040 -0.00% 3,637,922 46.72% 2,264,414 29.08% 1,373,508 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Wednesday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows IYR with 2,221,112 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.25000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
