February 28, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5660 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1936 companies with positive Friction Factors and 4054 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. Enbridge Inc. (NYSE:ENB), Marathon Oil Corporation (NYSE:MRO), JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE:JPM), Market Vectors Gold Miners ETF (NYSE:GDX), MARKET VECTORS ETF TRJR GOLD MINES (NYSE:GDXJ), Viavi Solutions Inc. (NASDAQ:VIAV). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  ENB $0.350 0.01% 9,392,237 18.47% 19,404,284 38.16% -10,012,047 Abnormal
  MRO $0.150 0.01% 3,686,785 24.76% 5,805,266 38.99% -2,118,481 Abnormal
  JPM $0.190 0.00% 3,363,368 19.49% 6,501,108 37.68% -3,137,740 Abnormal
  GDX $0.020 0.00% 20,128,880 22.27% 34,853,251 38.55% -14,724,371 Abnormal
  GDXJ $0.630 0.02% 4,580,408 13.38% 13,802,975 40.32% -9,222,567 Abnormal
  VIAV $0.040 0.00% 3,206,694 20.21% 8,393,877 52.90% -5,187,183 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Tuesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows ENB with 10,012,047 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.35000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
