February 23, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5540 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2885 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3125 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Thursday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Hornbeck Offshore Services Inc. (NYSE:HOS), Northern Dynasty Minerals Ltd (NYSE:NAK), ECO SCIENCE SOLUTION (OTC:ESSI), KBS Fashion Group Ltd (NASDAQ:KBSF), Pulmatrix Inc. (NASDAQ:PULM), Magellan Petroleum Corp (NASDAQ:TELL). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  HOS $0.640 0.15% 983,908 37.04% 831,274 31.30% 152,634 2,385
  NAK $0.260 0.19% 11,803,974 39.23% 11,348,925 37.72% 455,049 17,502
  ESSI $0.440 0.15% 332,027 60.62% 209,447 38.24% 122,580 2,786
  KBSF $0.990 0.14% 79,140 41.64% 71,602 37.67% 7,538 76
  PULM $0.500 0.14% 1,245,801 44.14% 1,136,619 40.28% 109,182 2,184
  TELL $2.970 0.20% 590,359 36.07% 528,695 32.30% 61,664 208
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows HOS with a dollar gain Thursday of $0.64000 and a Friction Factor of 2,385 shares. That means that it only took 2,385 more shares of buying than selling to move HOS higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
