February 22, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 5543 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2545 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3403 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE), General Electric Company (NYSE:GE), Sucampo Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:SCMP), Vale S.A. (NYSE:VALE), Market Vectors Gold Miners ETF (NYSE:GDX), MARKET VECTORS ETF TRJR GOLD MINES (NYSE:GDXJ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  PFE $-0.030 -0.00% 12,407,275 39.01% 6,598,064 20.75% 5,809,211 Abnormal
  GE $-0.230 -0.01% 13,139,814 40.96% 8,697,201 27.11% 4,442,613 Abnormal
  SCMP $-0.450 -0.04% 3,515,810 66.51% 973,966 18.42% 2,541,844 Abnormal
  VALE $-0.280 -0.02% 12,532,867 40.20% 9,598,757 30.78% 2,934,110 Abnormal
  GDX $-0.310 -0.01% 41,746,344 43.23% 17,775,846 18.41% 23,970,498 Abnormal
  GDXJ $-0.070 -0.00% 8,282,776 38.40% 4,393,114 20.37% 3,889,662 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Wednesday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows PFE with 5,809,211 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.03000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
