February 21, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5487 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3890 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2467 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage loss per share Tuesday and low price friction (bearish). This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices dropped faster with less Friction. Rentech Inc. (NASDAQ:RTK), Freddie Mac (PINK:FMCC), Fannie Mae (OTC:FNMFN), Federal National Mortgage Association FNMA Fannie Mae (PINK:FNMAT), Fannie Mae (PINK:FNMAJ), Cidara Therapeutics (NASDAQ:CDTX). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  RTK $-1.310 -0.48% 1,112,821 34.84% 1,171,442 36.67% -58,621 -447
  FMCC $-1.540 -0.39% 12,426,826 38.75% 16,759,872 52.26% -4,333,046 -28,137
  FNMFN $-5.920 -0.31% 25,828 1.36% 1,019,995 53.87% -994,167 -1,679
  FNMAT $-3.080 -0.29% 70,617 39.63% 86,689 48.65% -16,072 -52
  FNMAJ $-2.950 -0.30% 64,358 35.33% 78,197 42.93% -13,839 -47
  CDTX $-4.650 -0.40% 224,624 28.35% 254,099 32.07% -29,475 -63
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net dollar losses (Change) and extremely low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows RTK with a dollar loss Tuesday of $-1.31000 and a Friction Factor of -447 shares. That means that it only took 447 more shares of selling than buying to move RTK lower by one penny. This means the Market Makers are allowing the stock to drop quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and negative market direction can drive prices lower faster than normal.
