February 16, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 5461 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2715 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3322 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Bank of America Corporation (NYSE:BAC), Avon Products Inc (NYSE:AVP), CSX Corp (NASDAQ:CSX), Visa Inc. (NYSE:V), GGP Inc. (NYSE:GGP), Transocean Ltd. (NYSE:RIG). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  BAC $-0.010 0.00% 34,202,215 34.91% 31,333,632 31.98% 2,868,583 Abnormal
  AVP $-1.090 -0.19% 11,871,438 34.19% 10,202,751 29.38% 1,668,687 Abnormal
  CSX $-0.130 -0.00% 6,781,982 38.51% 4,953,258 28.13% 1,828,724 Abnormal
  V $-0.140 -0.00% 4,228,937 48.79% 1,653,803 19.08% 2,575,134 Abnormal
  GGP $-0.010 0.00% 2,383,487 55.69% 936,069 21.87% 1,447,418 Abnormal
  RIG $-0.170 -0.01% 6,648,082 60.69% 2,411,890 22.02% 4,236,192 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Thursday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows BAC with 2,868,583 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.01000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
