February 10, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Friday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Friday there were 5496 companies with "abnormal" market making, 4186 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1897 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. ArcelorMittal (NYSE:MT), Visa Inc. (NYSE:V), AT&T Inc (NYSE:T), Kinder Morgan Inc. (NYSE:KMI), Mead Johnson Nutrition Co (NYSE:MJN), MARKET VECTORS ETF TRJR GOLD MINES (NYSE:GDXJ). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  MT $0.520 0.06% 10,609,008 32.06% 13,352,241 40.35% -2,743,233 Abnormal
  V $0.320 0.00% 1,568,716 10.68% 6,863,756 46.74% -5,295,040 Abnormal
  T $0.030 0.00% 3,245,554 23.35% 6,065,566 43.64% -2,820,012 Abnormal
  KMI $0.130 0.01% 3,713,233 18.72% 11,465,776 57.81% -7,752,543 Abnormal
  MJN $4.670 0.06% 18,367,872 36.41% 23,082,831 45.75% -4,714,959 Abnormal
  GDXJ $0.970 0.02% 5,082,730 19.14% 9,693,211 36.50% -4,610,481 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Friday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows MT with 2,743,233 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.52000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
