February 8, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 5601 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3228 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2635 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. iShares FTSE/Xinhua China 25 Index Fund (NYSE:FXI), ArcelorMittal (NYSE:MT), iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF (NYSE:EEM), Nuance Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:NUAN), Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD), Market Vectors Gold Miners ETF (NYSE:GDX). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  FXI $0.540 0.02% 5,901,020 23.98% 9,813,845 39.88% -3,912,825 Abnormal
  MT $0.040 0.01% 3,349,979 20.23% 6,518,659 39.36% -3,168,680 Abnormal
  EEM $0.260 0.01% 11,009,053 27.56% 13,560,782 33.94% -2,551,729 Abnormal
  NUAN $0.680 0.04% 5,054,074 20.25% 9,354,114 37.48% -4,300,040 Abnormal
  AMD $0.260 0.02% 26,063,315 34.41% 31,404,053 41.46% -5,340,738 Abnormal
  GDX $0.280 0.01% 12,058,343 25.82% 18,257,003 39.10% -6,198,660 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Wednesday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows FXI with 3,912,825 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.54000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
