January 31, 2017 / M2 PRESSWIRE / BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Tuesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Tuesday there were 5395 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3767 companies with positive Friction Factors and 2363 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C), General Electric Company (NYSE:GE), Meredith Corporation (NYSE:MDP), Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), ABM Industries Incorporated (NYSE:ABM), Tesco PLC (OTC:TSCDY). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:

Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
  C $-0.760 -0.01% 12,025,526 35.86% 9,032,612 26.93% 2,992,914 Abnormal
  GE $-0.270 -0.01% 17,714,566 38.18% 9,698,624 20.90% 8,015,942 Abnormal
  MDP $-0.500 -0.01% 3,427,758 47.28% 311,666 4.30% 3,116,092 Abnormal
  MSFT $-0.530 -0.01% 9,759,517 39.76% 7,141,410 29.10% 2,618,107 Abnormal
  ABM $-0.200 -0.01% 3,233,889 47.87% 217,414 3.22% 3,016,475 Abnormal
  TSCDY $-0.050 -0.01% 2,898,947 82.80% 31,079 0.89% 2,867,868 Abnormal
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Tuesday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows C with 2,992,914 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.76000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
